Things I will never do

EVERY NOTARY I MAKE WILL BE PLACED IN MY JOURNAL FOR EACH TRANSACTION                                                            AND A THUMBPRINT IS REQUIRED.

                                                                 Things I will NEVER do

1. Never notarize unless the signer signs papers before me at the time of notary act taking place.

2. Never notarize without properly identifying the signer, either through person knowledge or satisfactory evidence of identity.

3. Never give legal advice of any kind or assist in document preparation because I am not licensed to.

4. Never UNLAWFULLY advertise notary services or advertise as a notario publico.

5. Never advertise as an immigration specialist or consultant.

6. Never ISSUE an identification card or document.

7. Never notarize a signature on a document that is dated AFTER the current date.

8. Never notarize a signature on a document containing blank spaces.

9. Never notarize signatures on a document if I have personal or financial involvement in the transaction or with someone who stands to benefit from the transaction.

10. Never make a certified copy of any public record or publicly recordable document.

11. Never fail to complete the notarial certification on the document executed, detailing all pertinent facts.

12. Never fail to sign and impress my notary stamp on a document I notarize.

13. Never fail to administer an oath or take a spoken acknowledgment as required.

14. Never sign a notary certificate with any name other than the name in which I commission is issued.

15. Never make a false statement on a notary certificate for instance do not check “personally known” unless I know the signer personally.

16. Never alter a notary certificate after notarization has taken place.

17. Never charge fees in EXCESS for notary services performed.

18. Never distribute confidential information obtained through notarizations.

19. Never perform a notary act for a signer who appears coerced, intoxicated, mentally impaired, or confused about the process taking place. The signer must understand the intent of the document being executed.

20. Never notarize my own signature.

21. Never destroy, remove, or alter entries in the material journal.
